Favorite thing to draw? Avocado Man (my comic book character)

Favorite food? Grilled Cheese

Favorite artist? Dave Pilkey 

Favorite place to visit? Walt Disney World

Favorite animal/s? Alligators

How old are you? 9 years old

Favorite color? Green

Favorite thing to do outside of art class ?  I like to play outside and get ideas for my comic books.

What do you want to do when you grow up?  I want to be an author and artist.

Any other fun facts to share?  Mauldin loves making comic books for friends and family.  His series is called Avocado Man.  His latest character is Egg, Avocado Man’s newest sidekick.

Not every piece of art you make has to be a masterpiece. I think one of the leading causes of “Artist’s Block” is the idea that you have to create a beautiful piece of art every time you put pencil to the page.  This is not the case. In fact 90% of the time you’re drawing, it should be practice. Practicing hands or faces. Practicing cars or trees.  Or practicing a future finished piece of art.  If you look at my sketchbook you will find a scribbling mess that only makes sense to me.  It’s far from a 
masterpiece, but that’s the way it should be.
