WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?
This question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level. We become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals with music lessons. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. Our music lessons are completely customized and tailored for you. A seven year old having their first music lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old. Everyone learns at a different pace. The main reason to choose Canton Arts Academy as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual. We are conveniently located on the Canton and Woodstock border in the Kroger Plaza. If you enroll here for music lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first music lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music. From there, you can set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?
We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as University of New Haven, West Haven, CT, Young Harris, Reinhardt University, Atlanta Institute of Music and more. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe. Some instructors have over 25 years of professional experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
GUITAR LESSONS (for ages 6 and up)
Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We have the right balance of musicianship and fun. We make sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new concept, but always end with something fun. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this. Students are encouraged to bring CDs or an iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.

PIANO LESSONS (for ages five and up)
Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory. But they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. You do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple electronic keyboard will suffice for the first 6 months. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you.

DRUM LESSONS (for ages six and up)
We have one of the most professional drum lesson rooms in North Georgia, with state of the art sound proofing and a Roland drum kit for students to use.
Our drum instructors teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other styles including Latin percussion. Drum language can be complex and our instructors will challenge any drummer with a wide variety of technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort. All drummers bring in their favorite drum parts to learn in their lessons and theory is encouraged. We have many drum students who play in local bands. Many of our drum students participate in their local churches. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to take lessons. Beginning students can learn with a drum pad, sticks and a book for only $25.00. Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks and a notebook.

VOICE LESSONS (for ages six and up)
Our voice teachers primarily focus on popular music. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel orR&B singer, then we have the right voice teachers for you. Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve themselves. We help with vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to develop their own unique vice. We not only teach singers, but also local TV and radio personalities who want to enhance their speaking voices.

BASS LESSONS (for ages seven and up) 
Our bass teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical bass lessons. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.

RATES Private Music Lessons are $62.50 per hour.
Music Lessons Tuition includes two optional free recitals each year for all actively enrolled students.
